Aromatic Lovin' For Mama To Be

A dear friend who is expecting her first baby recently celebrated a birthday.  She loves herbs and essential oils, and it is always fun to make something special for her.   So of course I had to give her a little herbal love for her birthday.  I loved using herbs, essential oils and body care products all full of love and goodness during my pregnancies to keep me healthy, strong and happy both inside and out.  This is was her decadent, special surprise.

Calm Mama Spray

For the mama that loves rose geranium

  • 6 drops rose geranium essential oil

  • 3 drops neroli essential oil

  • 3 drops frankincense essential oil

  • 2 drops bergamot essential oil

  • 2 drops blood orange essential oil

Instructions: Fill a 4 ounce bottle almost to the top with water, leaving room for your essential oils and for the tube of the spray top, as it will displace the water some.  Carefully add the essential oils.  Put a spray top on your bottle and shake to disperse the essential oils.

Queen’s Bath

This incredibly decadent bath comes from none other than Rebecca’s Herbal Apothecary & Supply.  The Queen's Bath is expertly crafted with rose, jasmine and neroli essential oils all blended up in the highest quality salts.  Makes you feel special just holding and smelling this gorgeous bath

The essential oils I chose are comforting and relaxing.  They help to ease anxiety which can accompany pregnancy while nourishing the skin and the soul.  While I chose safe oils for this soon-to-be mama, please do your research before using essential oils during pregnancy as each individual is unique and may react differently to the essential oils.

A Little Note ~ Lucky me, I live near Boulder, Colorado where the best little herb shop, Rebecca’s Herbal Apothecary & Supply, is nestled into the downtown area.  One of the really cool perks of shopping at Rebecca’s is that they sell essential oils by the drop.  This is great when you want to formulate something with those really pricy oils like rose and neroli.  So I ventured into the shop, picked out the bottles I wanted to fill and with the assistance of a lovely herbalist got just the right number of drops of essential oils put right into my bottles.  Pretty great, uh?  If you are in the Boulder area, I highly recommend a visit to Rebecca’s, you won’t be disappointed.  Otherwise you can shop online and pick up their beautiful creations, like the Queen’s Bath I gave my friend.  Oh, and the calendula infused olive oil?  That came from Rebecca's too.  I didn't have time to infuse my own and I knew I could purchase it at the shop.  Totally wonderful!
